Hi everybody! This Tuesday Allie and I want to invite you over to our house to watch an Alpha video called "Why and how should I tell others". We will watch the video and then have a short discussion about it afterwards. Bring a snack if you can to share. Im hoping our kids might find it interesting to watch as well, but they can always head to the other room and play if needed. Hope to see you all on Tuesday at 6:30...let us know if you have questions, need a ride, etc.

Tuesday Taco Night

Hi all! Come on over for taco night on Tuesday ~6:15 or so.

We will make our slow cooker chicken. We will also have some greens to make a taco salad, gluten free shells, and some other stuff.

Could you post if you are coming and what you will bring? Think stuff to put on tacos, side dish, or drinks/dessert

Gluten free if possible, as multiple others are gluten free

Community Update for the New Year

Hello everyone, we hope you had a great Christmas-time and are excited to reconnect in community group in this new year! Allie and I wanted to put out a schedule for the next three months. We will continue to meet every other Tueday night at ~6:15 pm.

January 8th: Meet at church, bring a snack to share.

January 22nd: Taco night at the Shapiro's house

February 5th: Game night at the church; bring a snack. Bring a favorite game to share if you want.

February 19th: Laser Tag or Nerf war at the church

March 5th: Volunteer, discuss possibilities.

March 19th: St. Patrick night: Bring a food or drink that is green to the Shapiro's house

Hi everyone! We are planning for next week the 13th to meet together and have our "pumpkin" night. Bring something pumpkin flavored to share!

We also wanted to pack shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child that night and bring them to the drop off site together. Let us know if you want to participate in that so we know how many boxes to plan for. Once we know that, then we can divvy up items to buy for the boxes. Hello SW Portland Community group, we hope the summer is ending well for you all as kiddos go back to school and we settle into routines again.  We're excited to reconnect with everyone! Allie and I want to start regularly meeting up again together. Starting in September we will meet every other week.

Tentative plan: Meet up 6pm

Sept 11th: Potluck, details to come

Sept 25th: Meet at park (or church if weather not good)

Oct 9th: Potluck, details to come

Oct 23rd: Tigard Bowl!

Nov 13th: Potluck Pumpkin Dish night

Nov 27:  Game night at church

Dec 11th: Christmas party, caroling, advent etc???

We'll meet up only once in December. That will take us to the end of the year and is a good place to start. Let us know if you have any suggestions or questions. I (Steve) would like to try and meet up once a month with guys for prayer, word, fellowship. I know schedules are tough. I'll let you know when I decide on a time/place.

July and August

Hello everyone, I hope your summer is going well. Allie and I wanted to post the July and August plan so that the group and anyone interested in checking out our group is in the loop. Colossae would like groups to "rest" over the summer, especially since so many people are out of town during the summer. That being said, they would like us to provide meetups once each month to connect and also for newcomers to come check out the group leading up to the fall. Here are our meetups for the rest of the summer:

July 17th: We are going to have a potluck combined with the Metzger community at Tom and Robin Briggs house! Should be a good time to fellowship with each other and the Metzger folks. 6:30pm. More details to come...

August 14th: Meetup at Metzger Park, 6:30pm


Any additional activities or meetups besides these two would be totally fine as well. Please feel free to plan something and send out a text if you have some ideas...definitely not limited by these two dates.

Tues 5/22

Hi everybody-

I had anticipated meeting up tonight but after pondering further, I am working much of the day and Allie has been feeling a little under the weather so I think we will hold off tonight. I wanted to lay out a loose plan for the summer so that going forward for June-Jul-August we could have an idea of what to expect...

Starting next Tuesday, we will meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the months. The off weeks we won't meet up, but it would be nice to try and get together as guys/girls separately as schedules allow.

I also would like to try and camp out as a group 1 or 2 nights, somewhere close in to the area. We'll see if we can find a place/time that will work.

Hello everyone! I wanted to let you guys know we are having a scattering day tomorrow since it is the 2nd Tuesday of the month and the youth use the church that day. We will be back to meeting together next Tuesday, same time, same place.

Hi everyone! Sorry for a late post, but I wanted to lay out the month ahead for us in community group...

March 6th: No group; scatter!

March 13th: Meet at our house; Katie Morales had suggested having a "day before Pi day". How about we all bring a different type of Pie?!

March 20th: Meet at church, ~6:15. Bring a game/snack

March 27th: Ladies get away night; bring kiddos over to church and us guys will play/hang with them while the ladies get away together.

Hi group! So we shall scatter this Tuesday and plan on meeting up as follows for February....here is a tentative schedule:

Feb 13th: Meet at Shapiros....Taco night! 6:15pm (Plan on bringing taco toppings, side, etc) Shapiro's will provide the taco meat. Please post what you plan to bring so everyone can know what is still needed to bring.

Feb 20th: Meet up at church as normal

Feb 27th: Gals night out; Guys play with kids again at church?


Also; for us guys, im thinking Sat the 17th AM for another breakfast/bible study? What ya'll think?
